Precision Sheet Metal Bending
Bending is one of the most common processes in sheet metal fabrication. Many seemingly simple parts are actually made by bending after laser cutting.
From equipment brackets, housings, and mounting plates to various mechanical parts, different products have different requirements for bending angles, dimensions, and appearance. Some parts only require a few simple bending steps, while others require multiple bending operations to achieve the final structure.
In RFS projects, we typically combine bending with laser cutting, welding, machining, and surface treatment. After the client provides drawings, we confirm the specific processing plan based on the material, sheet thickness, and product structure.
Some clients require samples to verify the design, while others are long-term bulk buyers. Whether it’s small-batch trial production or mass production, RFS will arrange processing according to the drawing requirements.

Machinable Materials
RFS has long provided machining services for various types of sheet metal bending projects. For some customers who have already specified the material specifications, we directly purchase and produce according to the drawings. Some projects are still in the development stage, and we will confirm the material plan together with the part structure and subsequent usage requirements.
Carbon steel
Carbon steel has consistently been a significant component in the bending drawings received by RFS. Sometimes customers will specify all the materials and plate thicknesses, and we will produce directly according to their requirements. Sometimes, only the material model number is written, and the thickness is confirmed later. For products like equipment brackets and equipment base plates, we mostly use carbon steel.
Stainless Steel
Among our stainless steel projects, Grade 304 is the most common. Some clients specify 304 stainless steel right away, while others send both 304 and 316 stainless steel for us to quote. In a previous equipment enclosure project, we used 304 stainless steel from prototyping to mass production.
Aluminum alloys
Aluminum projects often involve surface treatment. When some customers send drawings, they will specify the materials and anodizing requirements together. We’ve done several control boxes and electronic equipment enclosure projects, and this is basically how they’re all arranged.
Galvanized steel sheet
Some server rack projects specifically require galvanized steel sheet. The materials were already determined when the drawings were sent. We mainly completed the cutting and bending processes according to the requirements of the drawings.
Copper and Brass
There are fewer copper projects than the previous ones. However, we have handled projects for components such as connectors and small fittings. In most cases, the customer specifies the materials in advance, and then production is carried out according to the drawings.
Surface Treatment
Many bent parts require further surface treatment after machining. RFS can arrange different processing procedures according to customer drawing requirements and carry them out in a unified manner with the overall project production plan.
Powder coating
RFS has done many powder coating projects. After the equipment casing, cabinet, and mounting bracket are bent, they often go directly into the powder coating process. If the customer has a specific color requirement, we will arrange production accordingly.

Spray painting
Some projects will specifically request spray painting treatment. We have worked on equipment frames, display equipment, and some industrial product casings. These types of products usually have specific requirements for color and appearance.

Anodizing
Anodizing is frequently used in aluminum alloy parts projects. Some clients specify colors, while others only require a uniform surface finish; we will execute according to the drawings.

Galvanizing
RFS has processed many steel parts that require galvanizing. This type of process is frequently included in projects involving the installation of brackets, structural components, and some outdoor products.

Brushed finish
For some exterior parts, customers may request a brushed finish. We will arrange the corresponding processing according to the product’s actual requirements.

Polishing
For some products with high requirements for appearance, a polishing process will be added later. Different projects may have different requirements for surface finishes.

Sandblasting
RFS can also arrange sandblasting treatment according to project requirements. Some products will proceed to the next process after sandblasting, while others will retain their surface condition.
Get A QuoteTolerance Control
The dimensions of bent parts depend not only on the bending equipment but also on the material, plate thickness, and product structure.
Even with the same drawing, different materials will exhibit different characteristics during bending. Therefore, before formal production, we usually confirm the drawing requirements and then arrange production based on the actual processing conditions.
For projects with strict dimensional requirements, RFS will conduct dimensional checks during production. For some products, we will also confirm with sample parts to ensure that subsequent mass production is consistent with the drawing requirements.
Many customers are not only concerned with whether individual parts are qualified but also with the smoothness of subsequent assembly. Therefore, during production, we also focus on the fit between hole positions, bending angles, and critical dimensions. The tolerance requirements for different projects are not exactly the same; specific standards will be implemented according to the drawing requirements.

Why Choose RFS for Metal Bending Services?
Communication Starts with Drawings
Some projects have complete drawings, while others are still in the adjustment phase. Upon receiving an inquiry, we first confirm the drawings, materials, and processing requirements to avoid unnecessary problems during production.
Support for Samples and Mass Production
Some clients will first create samples to verify the design, while others will directly proceed to the mass procurement stage. Whether it’s small-batch trial production or long-term orders, RFS can arrange production according to project needs.
Multi-Process Coordination
Many parts involve more than just bending. Laser cutting, welding, machining, and surface treatment often occur simultaneously in a project, eliminating the need for clients to find different suppliers separately.
Production Organized According to Drawings
Different clients have different requirements. For RFS, the most important thing is not to produce according to a fixed pattern, but to arrange processing according to the client’s drawings and actual project requirements.
FAQs
Yes. Many customers send only 2D drawings, some even with only partial dimensions. Generally, we will first determine the structure based on the available information. If there are any unclear points, we will then confirm with the customer.
In RFS’s usual projects, 2D drawings make up a large portion.
Some products have complex structures or will be assembled with other parts later. For these projects, we usually make one or two prototypes first to assess the actual situation.
It’s more reliable for mass production after confirming there are no issues.
Yes, but the results won’t be exactly the same. For example, carbon steel and stainless steel are different in strength, weight, and post-processing. Therefore, customers generally choose materials based on actual usage, rather than simply trying a different one.
Generally, drawings are the most basic requirement. If there are material requirements, quantity, or subsequent surface treatment requirements, please provide them as well. This will make initial communication smoother.
If some project information is incomplete, you can send it first, and we will supplement and confirm it together.
Bending is not a single, fixed result; processing equipment, techniques, and material conditions all have an impact. Therefore, the same drawing may result in different parts from different factories with variations in details, especially noticeable in mass production.
